We’ve promised our community of collectors that new features are coming. Today, they’re finally here. We’re introducing MomentHQ, which allows collectors to track the value of any NBA Top Shot moment, including serial number, like never before.
We’re also pushing a major update to our machine-learning model, which makes the most powerful moment valuation tool magnitudes more accurate than before.
Let’s get into the details of our new site features, one-by-one.
MomentHQ: A Moment Valuation Tool for NBA Top Shot
Finding the true value of a moment is crucial to making sharp decisions on Top Shot. We created MomentHQ to help you know the true value of every moment — not just the ones you own, and dig into the price history of every moment on the Marketplace.
Today, we’re releasing our first version of MomentHQ, the hub for moments that will allow you track moment value like never before. Within each moment page in MomentHQ, you can:
- search any serial number for any moment and find their MomentRanks value based on a number of market factors
- view day-by-day sales analysis and track a moment’s price over time with Sales Insights
- see the top sales for that moment, including the date, serial number, buyer, and seller
Let’s start with the MomentRanks value search. See a #611 Zach LaVine Series 1 3 Pointer on the Marketplace, but not sure whether it’s a good deal when you could get #1333 for much cheaper? Now, you can use MomentHQ to help make the right decision.
Navigate to MomentHQ in the menu, search Zach LaVine, select the moment, then search the serial number. Right away, you’ll find which serial number has a higher MomentRanks value, factoring in the serial numbers of each moment.
Now, you can view the true value of every moment on NBA Top Shot without needing to know who owns it. It’s that easy.
Just like the moments on the Account pages, this tool uses millions of Top Shot sales that are analyzed by a machine-learning model to find the true value of the moment, updated to the minute.
Below the MomentRanks value search, you’ll find the most powerful Top Shot Sales Insights tool. You can pick the timeframe, then view the average price day-by-day in that timeframe.

Finally, we’ve put up-to-date sales data on every MomentHQ page. This way, you can view the all-time top sales for that moment, including the date, serial number, buyer, and seller.
Other MomentHQ Features
When you go to each MomentHQ page, you’ll see a few numbers before you choose the serial number you want a price for. The price for these moments will be displayed for every moment:
- #1
- #2
- #3
- Jersey Number
- Perfect Number
- Floor price — or the lowest estimated value for any mint
This is only the first iteration of MomentHQ, with much more to come. So stay tuned for added features as our development team continues work on them at lightning speed. If you have suggestions, don’t hesitate to reach out on Discord or by email.
Our biggest Moment Valuation Model update… so far
We’ve appreciated all of the feedback from users about our Moment Valuation model in our Discord and on Twitter. We’re not perfect, so your comments, suggestions, and concerns push our team to make the best possible Top Shot moment valuation model available.
Here’s the latest: We’re pushing a massive update to our proprietary machine-learning model which will make our moment and account valuation tools magnitudes more precise than before.
The new update includes much-improved serial number pricing based on a new formula, and a major adjustment to how the model evaluates the price of low-liquidity moments.
Our team will continue to tweak our model to get collectors the most accurate moment valuation for NBA Top Shot anywhere. If you have any suggestions, once again, we ask that you reach out to our team on Discord or via email so we can continue making improvements you want to see.
The Watchlist: Track your Favorite Top Shot Accounts
While MomentHQ and the model updates are huge for MomentRanks and our users, our developers also added a number of features in our first week that improved the site experience for our members, many of which you may have already seen on the site.
The first one we want to touch on is the Watchlist feature, which allows you to track multiple NBA Top Shot accounts in one place. Just navigate to the account by searching it, either on the home page or the Watchlist page, and click “Add to Watchlist”.
Every account you add to your Watchlist will be easily-accessible to view on the Watchlist page — including your own if you’d like!
You’ll see much of the same data here as you would on an individual’s MomentRank Account page, except it can all be sorted within the Watchlist from high to low based on Total MomentRanks Value, Lifetime Profit, ROI, Average Moment Value, or number of moments among the Watchlist. Here’s a look at that new tool:

Accounts on your Watchlist can be clicked to take you to the full Account page. To remove an account from your Watchlist, just navigate to the account and click the “Unsubscribe” button.
The Watchlist is a simple way to keep up with what your friends, NBA players, or market whales are up to on NBA Top Shot — all in one place.
The new Top Shot Account Pages
Our Account pages weren’t just upgraded with an improved model, they also got a few feature additions.
Most importantly, users can now see the “Lowest Ask” of individual moments, as well as the value of the entire account based on current low ask numbers on the market.
While the MomentRanks account valuation tool isn’t going anywhere, our goal is to provide users with the best possible resources when looking at accounts on MomentRanks. With low ask added, not only can users view what their cards are worth if they were to liquidate them right now, but it also adds a comparison point for the MomentRanks valuation.

A few more things on the Account pages. Moments in Top Shot accounts can now be viewed in an updated, compact Cards view as well as a Table view. Collectors can toggle between Cards and Table view on the right side of the screen, just above the list of their moments.
We’ve added a search feature to the Account pages. You can now search through moments on any account for one or multiple players.
Lastly, a highly-requested feature: last updated time. The last time your MomentRanks account was updated will now appear under your account statistics.
That’s all on the Account pages for now, but we’ll continue to add new features to make these pages the hub for NBA Top Shot Account Valuation and analysis.
A few more brief updates
We initially launched the Sales page as a barebones way to see the highest-priced sales across NBA Top Shot. We recently added a few filters that will make viewing sales just a bit easier.
For now, these filters include: Set, Tier, and Time (24 hours, 7 days, or All-Time). You can use these on the top right corner of the sales.
One very last thing: Who’s ready to turn out the lights as Anthony Edwards did on Yuta Watanabe?
Late last week, we launched a commonly-requested feature from our Discord: Dark Mode. Dark Mode can be enabled by clicking the lightbulb in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen on desktop, and at the top of the screen on mobile versions. Of course, you can switch back to Light Mode by clicking again.
Last but not least, thank you!
The first week has been a wild ride for our team at MomentRanks, and we could have never expected this kind of reception. We’ve received thousands of sign-ups, tens of thousands of unique users, and over a million page views.
From our entire team, we thank you all for being with us on this journey as we continue to build the most useful and accurate tools for NBA Top Shot.
We’ll continue to update you as we push out new updates to MomentRanks, and soon we’ll be expanding our NBA Top Shot content offerings to give you more insights into the market.
We love hearing new ideas that help collectors on Top Shot, so if you have any suggestions or want to work with us, email danny@momentranks.com and we’ll get back with you.
